This Will Destroy You @ Deep Ellum Art Co

Post-rock veterans This Will Destroy You returned to Dallas on Friday night, saturating Deep Ellum Art Co with their signature layered dynamics and a thick cloud of fog. TWDY is currently on a headlining tour in support of their latest releases New Others Part One and Two, which wraps up Sunday night in San Antonio.

In typical TWDY fashion, the setting was dark and intimate as they pummeled through tracks that spanned their entire catalog. Quite-loud-quite was the theme as layers of delayed guitar saturated the air. When it comes to post-rock instrumentalist, there really isn’t anyone that does it better than This Will Destroy You. They continue their tour in February along the west coast before hitting the UK.

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tignor opened the evening, creating rhythmic hooks with tuning forks and his violin. Tignor is mesmerizing to watch perform, and he always leaves the crowd stunned with the beauty he creates.
